Enabling two-factor authentication on WPS Cloud is a critical measure to safeguard your files and prevent unauthorized logins.

To begin the setup process, first log in to your WPS Cloud account using your email address and password through the official website or the WPS Office application.

Once you are logged in, navigate to the account settings section.

Your account configuration panel can be accessed through the profile menu — simply select Security or Account Settings to continue.

Find the section titled Two-Factor Authentication or MFA within the security controls.

Click on Enable or Set Up to start the configuration.

You will be prompted to choose your preferred method of receiving the second authentication code.

For maximum security, we strongly advise using a dedicated authenticator app like Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.

Unlike SMS, these apps work offline and generate codes locally, eliminating vulnerabilities tied to network-based delivery.

A scannable QR code will appear automatically once you choose app-based authentication.

Within your authenticator app, press the plus icon, choose "Scan Barcode," and align your phone’s camera with the QR code displayed.

A temporary 6-digit code will appear in the app — this code is tied directly to your WPS Cloud login.

Paste the six-digit number from your authenticator app into the confirmation field and click Verify to finalize the process.

Do not skip saving the emergency access codes generated during setup.

These codes are single use and can be used to regain access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app or phone.

Download or print these backup codes and store them in a secure location, such as a locked drawer or encrypted digital vault.

Avoid keeping backup codes in note apps, email drafts, or cloud folders linked to your account.

After successful verification, 2FA is fully enabled and will apply to all future login attempts.

Whenever signing in from an unrecognized device or browser, you’ll need to provide the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app after typing your password.

For convenience, you can choose to trust this device for 30 days, skipping 2FA on future logins from the same machine.

For added security, consider disabling SMS based authentication if it is offered as an alternative.

Attackers can hijack phone numbers through social engineering, compromising SMS-based codes.

Lock your device with a complex PIN, biometric authentication, or pattern to safeguard your authentication tokens.

Finally, periodically review your connected devices and active sessions within the WPS Cloud security settings.

Any unrecognized access should trigger immediate logout and a password reset as a precaution.

Keep your authenticator app updated and ensure your phone’s operating system is current to benefit from the latest security patches.

By enabling multi factor authentication on your WPS Cloud account, you significantly reduce the risk of data breaches and unauthorized access to your files.

Adding one extra verification layer makes your account vastly more resilient to phishing, credential stuffing, and brute force attacks
